HANDMADE BY SARA LOWE

September 2021

During the lockdown period I decided to pick up my needles to create home made garments from ethical yarns. I initially started designing my handmade garments with the intentions of creating pieces for my family as my great great grandparents once taught me long ago. But, I noticed that my cashmere pieces where gaining interest so I have decided to exclusively make custom bespoke pieces and also knitted and crocheted items. Keep up to date with my yarns, and creations here IG Saralowe_arts

20/07/2017 Simon Collins & Zoidiva

As you all know, I enjoy concept art as well as drawing and painting. So I wanted to share this with you, it's my concept art I designed for wonderful talented Zoidiva and Simon Collins (Phil Collins talented son). It was for their upcoming project called 'Eden Return'. Zoidiva Penyez Lore and Simon Collins, thank you for acknowledging and appreciating my work I've had great fun. My original painting is called 'Abide' in digital oil and I'll post the story behind it all soon.

13/03/2015 For musician and artist Phil Gould.

Slightly back tracking.  In December 2014 I decided to surprise Phil Gould (Drummer and Musician of Level 42), with a mini sketch (below).  It received thousands of responses from my Facebook fan page, Phil and all his followers combined.  Since then Phil has used the image for his Twitter profile, which is just fantastic. Thank you to one of the most talented people out there.

12/03/2015  Things happen for a reason
After my car accident on 19th Jan, I'm happy to say I've resumed back to the pleasures of painting and singing.  I'm delighted to be rehearsing with The BMGMA (Bazil Meade Gospel Music Academy)  for our next performance on stage in St Albans on the 26th March '15 and for the Mayor's Ball this May.  I feel more electric and excited than I ever did before. My senses have heightened. My next abstracts will be coming soon.

Meeting Mike Lindup (Level42)
Few weeks ago, I visited the National Gallery in London for a private viewing of The Rembrandt collection all thanks to Chris Lowe of Marsh.  Last week I met Phil Gould again and watched one of the best bands in my life play live at the 606 Jazz Club in Chelsea London this is where I met legend Mike Lindup. Many times I painted portraits listening to Mike and the band on the stereo. Thank you guys for an unforgettable night. A Way In Music

I'm picturing myself now it's 1985 I'm watching TOTPs moving forward to 1989 (I was 11yrs old) my brother's playing Level 42 from his pioneer stack, and I'm sketching a picture of the band which I posted to their fan club before heading for school.

(I also wrote to Phil Collins and Genesis). Two years ago I sat listening to Phil Gould's album 'Watertight' and song 'Area 51 Revisited' I had to find out more. After several telephone conversations over several years (he's such a cool guy), we met. I've always been a huge fan and it's lovely to get moments like this to chat and even get asked to join him on stage - which, is an honour in many great ways. And I couldn't find a better way to spend my Friday night in London with Bongo Saloon, with Phil Gould former Level42 drummer and co-founder of Level42. Hugely talented and such an inspiration. BTW, Phil and band members smashed it. Amazing night. It's moments like this that really get me inspired. I know I'll be infusing their grooves in my work. Thank you Phil.

Bazil Meade and BMGMA
In June 2013, Sara took part in an hour workshop with Bazil Meade MBE the founder of the famous London Music Gospel Community Choir and performed with the workshop in front of Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant and Lady. Since then, Sara became Soprano at the Bazil Meade Gospel Music Academy in October 2013, St Albans, UK. Sara has performed on stage with LGCG, and with Annie Brewster The Mayor of St Albans. In March, the Academy raised over £10,000 for living waters charity at the St Albans Arena stage, and at the Mayor summer ball.  Sara was commissioned to paint Bazil Meade, and it sits in his office.

2011
Meeting with Gino backstage
Whilst Gino d'Acampo visited Sara's home town in Bedford for the first Italian Festival
Gino was presented with a graphite portrait.  Gino was thrilled and later followed and tweeted Sara adding he's placed his portrait in his games rooms.

 2011
Tom Cruise thank you.
Tom Cruise started following Sara on Twitter and Sara simply wanted to say thank you. Replying to her tweets and kind about her work Sara painted her first digital painting of Tom Cruise using a Wacom Stylus and her iPad Mini.  Sara later presented the actor with her portrait. You can see the stages of this portrait created on Sara's Instagram.

2011

It was an ambition at the time for Sara to paint portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II an idea from Kevin James of Create Online from Bletchley Park.  The idea was to paint a portrait to sit in the entrance of Bletchley park offices.

2000
Meeting Les Hill
Sara met Les Hill finally in 2000, in Sydney Australia.  Sara called Les and they both arranged to meet for a coffee and a chat.   Sara presented Les with many drawings compelled by her work, which Les gifted his portraits to his parents.
